Have you ever been to a place where you feel you have been drawn in by a magnet? Where you feel grounded, instantly at home, with family even though you don’t know anyone yet? There is definitely something special about Agnes Water and at the very heart is Cool Bananas Backpackers. Our doors have been open since 2001. We are travellers ourselves and know how important it is to find a space to connect with whilst being so far away from your own home, family and friends. Upon arrival, we greet our guests with dressed bananas, banana treats and a unique banana wristband that is not only security for the hostel but a memoir to take with you and treasure as part of your Australian journey.
Whilst sitting in our courtyard you will be encompassed with our tropical gardens and at night, during the evening sitting around the camp fire, you can gaze up any time to see the beautiful clear starry nights. If you look closely, among the gardens and courtyards you will find many interesting creatures, but you must look carefully because they do blend in!
We are only a short walk to the beach and shops. An incredible spot to watch the sunset is a beautiful 10-minute bush walk that will take you to a magical lookout. Sit long enough and you will see turtles, dolphins and at the right time of year, whales.
