Very clean hostel with a nice vibe. It’s super social and I met a lot of new people and friends here. The beach is super close to go for a swim or a surf!
When it comes to solo travelling a lot of people (including me a few months ago) assume that it is a lonely way to travel. Not once staying at Cool bananas have I felt lonely. The big social areas are great and in combination with a very open atmosphere it makes it a very social hostel. They offer affordable surf lessons with experienced instructors and the vibe of the hostel is very welcoming and open. I would recommend Cool bananas to anyone staying in Agnes water who’s looking for a home away from home!
This is by far my favorite hostel on the East coast. I past through Agnes Water just to relax a little on my east coast trip, but I liked it so much that I came back 2 months later. The Hostel has a very nice Location and a cool vibe. All the staff members are really friendly, therefore the atmosphere is really welcoming. Also,Scott the Owner, tries to make the hostel a Safe Space for everyone and wants everybody to have a good time. There are free activities basically everyday so the life in Agnes never gets boring. The hostel is super clean which also makes the stay even more enjoyable ( kitchen gets cleaned 3 times a day). I also highly recommend the surfschool that is connected to the hostel. The surf lessons are great and definitely cheaper than other Surf lessons along the coast. If you are in Agnes water and you want to have a good time, you should definitely Check out this hostel!!!
Such a cool hostel. The owner and the workers there are so chill. We booked the adventure pack which included a flying lesson (yes you can fly your own plane), a surf lesson and the stay in the hostel. The flying lesson was my favorite part. You will fly a plane over agnes water with the chillest instructor ever, thanks Lorenzo aka Bruce. In the evening everyone chills outside and plays card games which makes the hostel very social. The rooms are big but in the night it gets very hot. Agnes Water is actually the last place on the East-Coast where you get the chance to surf and since its on the way to airlie beach I would recommand spending a few nights there. I would definitely come back if I did the East Coast again-thanks Scott Raphi
Stayed the night after driving down from airlie. We checked in at 10pm and it was super easy! Looked like the hostel had good amenities and although we left early morning it looks like they provided lots of activities.Only con was there was NO air con so the room was boiling
